Half day.
Upon arrival at the Sloth Sanctuary in Pensurth, they will show you a 12 minute video about these curious animals. You will learn about scientific studies on sloths and the project of this sanctuary, which is unique in the entire world. You will meet Buttercup, the oldest sloth at the center, and learn about the life stories of others sloths that live there. After visiting the sloth hospital, we will take a 45 minutes canoe trip along the Estrella River where you will see tropical vegetation, animals, and plants typical of the Caribbean rain forest. After the canoe trip we will take a hike along the trails of the farm where you will see sloths, butterflies, birds, monkeys and other species in their natural habitat. At the end of the hike we will see the place where baby sloths live at the sanctuary. There is also a little store where they sell souvenirs about these adorable animals. The sloth sanctuary is closed on Sundays.
