Departure towards the Caribbean coast of Panama. On the road to Portobelo, you will have a chance to see the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel locks, the Gaillard Cut and the Panama Canal. As we go through the Soberania National Park, we will stop of a quick visit of the Cruces Trail which was used by the Spaniards during the colonial times when transporting goods, such as gold and silver from Peru, from Panama to Portobelo. Next, you will be able to see the Madden Dam and the Alajuela Lake, which serve as a reserve of water for the Panama Canal.
Once in Portobelo, visit the colonial fort of Santiago de la Gloria, a walking tour of the town and the newly restored Customs building, the fort of San Jeronimo, and ending with a visit of the church which houses the Black Christ. Beach tour, ecological tour, scuba diving or snorkeling tour is available under request.
