San Lucas & Tortuga Islands Dream Trip
We pick up our customers in their respective hotels (if they are located in the GAM) in our safari vehicles.
We leave town in direction of Puntarenas where a speedboat awaits us and takes us to Isla San Lucas, whose diversity in flora and fauna and great historical contribution won the island the status of national wildlife refuge and national heritage in 2001.
We enjoy its lush natural beauty, crystal clear waters, white sand and walk along paths of the island, discovering along the way the sacred cemetery that the indigenous of the Chorotega tribe used in the years 1500-800 BC.
Also known as “The island of lonely men” we learn about its mysterious and horrifying past, the fascinating story of its notorious jail, and perceive what the walls tell us about the violence, pain and desire for freedom experienced by prisoners.
We arrive at Tortuga Island for lunch, instantly charmed by its beauty, its immaculate white sand and turquoise waters. We savor a delightful picnic on the beach and enjoy this tropical paradise, lush vegetation and its warm waters.
We returned by boat to Puntarenas where we find our vehicles, and return to San José in the late afternoon, when our adventure ends.
