“CAMINO DE CRUCES” TRAIL
This adventure takes us to the Soberania National Park. For Historian wanting a bit of a challenge we have the Camino de Cruces trail which Henry Morgan used to finally sack the city of Panama in 1671. Completed around 1550 this is one off the oldest road ever built by the Spanish Conquistadors. This tropical rainforest offer excellent opportunities for nature enthusiasts. The area is well known for howler monkeys, Coati, Collard Anteaters, and Agouties.
Birding is also fabulous and species like Motmots and Trogon’s are very common. Side Trips to Gamboa and the Panama Canal can also be arranged.Departure by 08:00 a.m. to Gamboa, transfer from Gamboa up the Chagres river to the Camino de Cruces Trail. Box Lunch at the Bamboo Station. This is the half way point.
NOTE: All participants should be dressed to go hiking in the Jungle and should use long pants, long sleeve shirts, Hiking boots and lots bug repellent especially during the rain months.
