Guatemala, a country filled with diverse scenery and exciting opportunities for exploration and relaxation. Some wonders you may encounter are volcanoes, mountains and beaches along the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea and ancient Mayan sites.

In the misty cloud forests of Guatemala, you may spot the colorful quetzal bird. Both the male and female quetzal bird have vibrant white, green, and red feathers, but only the male has the extraordinary long tail that can measure 3 feet long. The ancient Mayan people believed that this wondrous bird was the living form of their god Quetzalcoatl, hence its name. Guatemala is also home to many other wonderful flora and fauna. The cloud forest also supports a perfect environment for bromeliads, these air plants cling to tree trunks. You may also find ferns, orchids and mosses along the forest floor. Many animals can be found in the lowland northeastern part of the country. Some including jaguars, monkeys, tapirs, ocelots and mule deer.
